JEWELLERY CARE
How do I care for my ANTIPASTEL jewellery?
Imperfection is the hallmark of handmade. Slight differences in size and colour may occur.
- To clean, wipe surface gently with a soft cloth (e.g. silver cleaning cloth)
- Keep away from sharp objects and abrasive cloths that could damage or scratch surface (e.g. rough tissues, house keys)
- Do not bend or place under heavy objects
- Varnish is water-resistant, not waterproof: avoid contact with water and soaps
TEXTILES CARE
How do I care for my ANTIPASTEL aprons/tea towels?
ANTIPASTEL aprons and tea towels are printed with non-toxic inks. They are best gently hand washed in warm, soapy water. They are dry cleanable. Non-machine washable. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat. Warm iron.
How do I care for my ANTIPASTEL lunch bag?
ANTIPASTEL cotton lunch bags are machine washable. For best results, pop your lunch bag in a delicates bag on a gentle cycle, with cool water and phosphate-free detergent. Lay flat or line dry.
BEESWAX WRAP CARE
What are beeswax wraps and how do I use them?
Beeswax wraps are a reusable, biodegradable and fun alternative to disposable plastic wrap. Use them for veggie ends, bowl covers, sandwiches and more. Wrap and press the beeswax wrap, using the warmth of your hands to seal.
How do I care for my ANTIPASTEL beeswax wraps?
Wash in cool to lukewarm water only, with mild soap and soft cloth, after use. Peg up or lay flat to dry.
How should I store my beeswax wraps?
In your pantry or drawer, rolled up or folded - whatever your preference. You can even keep them in the fridge, so they're always at hand.
What can I wrap my beeswax wrap with?
YES: Veggies, cheeses, sambos + more
NO: Meats, greasy or acidic foods
How long will it last?
With proper care, your beeswax wrap should last you several months to a year or more. If you wish to extend the life of your wrap and you're feeling crafty, you can choose to re-wax, which will extend its life even further.
My wrap has gone dry. What can I do?
Exposure to cooler temperatures and a lack of use can, in some cases, combine to dry your wrap out. Warm your wrap in your hands for a few minutes. If this doesn't work, pop it in the oven at 140ºC for a few *brief* minutes on either a silicone tray or a baking tray lined with wax paper. This will re-melt the wax slightly and return the wrap to its glossy self. Be careful around hot ovens, though, ok!
Are beeswax wraps compostable?
This is the best bit - and where beeswax wraps trump disposable plastic wrap every time! Beeswax wraps, as well as being reusable, are biodegradable and compostable at the end of their lives.
